In English: Rouble Rust: The beauty that conveys a colorful death

Spyridoula (Roula) Mpleta (1986, Greece) is a contemporary artist who is characterized by usually represent death issues. His works are carried out by women, especially following his latest work, suffer 'some kind of possession', leading to 'aggressive removal of viscera by the various body orifices'.

The artist thus suggests, emerge as strange girls 'vines'. However, sometimes these 'vines' are shaped like candy canes, or else are bicolor and remember goodies. In many cases they can also be seen bodily fluids are the obvious result of the violent death of the young. But as they are represented, with typical Vivid colorful wrapping the scenes, could be sweet syrups or sauces.

Rust may fall within the pop surrealism, accounting issues that are not common in the art 'traditional' to be considered unpleasant. In fact, perhaps is better to say that these violent deaths that appear Rust does not usually received with pleasure or academics or the public in general.

The death remains, and especially in our culture, an inevitable part of life, but also ominous and frightening. And above all, the 'death forced' by other causes, especially when they are impossible to explain. As these 'vines' Striped. Evoke some fear, like the stuff of science fiction or magical terror. You can not justify a person will escape the intestines through the mouth or ears. It is truly disgusting, and shocking.

Still, the artist knows how to use the element of surprise and make up their girls, and elaborate hairstyles; even standing naked to cause more commotion. The beauty and eroticism are obvious resources, but also convey this concern for the death and the unknown. Rust advantage and combine the canvas, the stand considered as 'sublime' in the History of Art, with paintings 'not standing so high', such as acrylic, which are shiny and give it a more contemporary look, along with watercolors and gouache, creating transparencies and more ephemeral and supernatural atmosphere.

The aforementioned bright colors gives a fantastic look and get the looks not focus on both the cruelty of the subject represented, but the magic that evokes the joyous color range. The contrast of colors with these powerful figurative, is death itself is an achievement; It is a wonder in the eyes of any lover of contemporary art. The fuchsia colored hair or blue enhance the feeling of being in an unreal world. The vividness of tone also allows to downplay the issue of violent death.

This video walks through the exhibition of various works, Haitian painting lately. No it could be summarized as the assimilation of Western styles, as it is not that precisely.
