Daniel Acuña Álvarez (nacido en 1993) es un joven artista de Luanco, graduado en Bellas Artes  por la Universidad de Salamanca y actual profesor en prácticas de dibujo. La primera vez que  mostró su obra al público fue en junio de 2013, desde el ámbito universitario. A partir de ese  momento ha forjado una prestigiosa carrera artística, pues así lo confirman las seis exposiciones en las que participó y sus dos premios.

Daniel es un artista que cultiva desde el dibujo, pasando por la acuarela hasta la escultura fabricada de materiales diversos. De hecho, esta exposición dedicada individualmente a su obra permite mostrar su rica capacidad plástica.

Acuarelas

Comenzado por sus acuarelas, muchas de ellas se basan en la experiencia vital de Daniel, reflejando así los paisajes de su villa natal, que es Luanco, o bien otros lugares de Asturias, como el Palacio de Congresos de Oviedo; muy importante para el artista al servir como hogar a su arte.

Sin embargo, algunas de estas pinturas, especialmente las monocromas y bicolores se tornan misteriosas e incluso tenebrosas. Reflejan paisajes ilocalizables para el espectador, senderos, grutas y árboles que juegan con la luz y las sombras generadas por una baja gama de colores.

En cuanto a su escultura, lo más relevante del artista son los ensamblajes y el empleo de  múltiples materias. Predomina como soporte principal la madera, la que suele cubrir con otros materiales como tela, papel, cinta, cuerda, yeso, pigmentos, etc. Elige las formas geométricas como base en la mayoría de sus creaciones, trabajando sobre rectángulos, cuadrados o cubos. En estas obras también es muy importante la consideración que se le da al espacio.

Sin ubicarlas de un modo predeterminado, pierden todo el significado, como es el caso de la Paralela; una tabla de madera parcialmente coloreada que no puede entenderse si se la desliga de su posición en la muestra. El gusto por los ensamblajes conecta a Daniel con el  mundo del arte povera, el cual se caracteriza por utilizar materiales de desecho. Mediante estos ensamblajes también provoca una ruptura radical dentro de su obra expuesta, teniendo en cuenta las acuarelas vistas anteriormente.

En definitiva, la exposición demuestra la alta creatividad del graduado en Bellas Artes para trabajar con diversos soportes, materias y técnicas, configurando un arte tan copioso como heterogéneo.

Daniel Acuña Alvarez (born 1993) is a young artist of Luanco graduated in fine arts from the University of Salamanca and current teacher in practice of drawing. The first time that he showed his work to the public was in June 2013, from the University field. From that moment it has forged a prestigious artistic career, as confirmed by the six exhibitions in which participated and their two awards. 

Daniel is an artist who cultivated drawing, watercolor to sculpture made of different materials. In fact, this exhibition individually dedicated to his work displays rich plastic capacity. AcuarelasComenzado for his watercolors, many of them are based on the life experience of Daniel, thus reflecting the landscapes of his home town, which is Luanco, either elsewhere in Asturias, and the Palacio de Congresos of Oviedo; very important for the artist to serve as home to his art. 

However, some of these paintings, especially the monochrome and bicolor become mysterious and even creepy. They reflect unlocateable landscapes for the Viewer, trails, caves and trees that play with light and shadows generated by a low range of colors.   
In terms of his sculpture, the most relevant of the artist are assemblies and the use of multiple materials. It predominates as a main support wood, which is often covered with other materials such as cloth, paper, Ribbon, rope, gypsum, pigments, etc. Select the geometric shapes as the basis in most of their creations, working on rectangles, squares or cubes. In these works is also very important to the consideration given to the space. 

Without placing them in a default manner, they lose all meaning, as in the case of the parallel; a table of partially colored wood that cannot be understood if you release your position in the sample. The taste for assemblies connected to Daniel with the world of arte povera, which is characterized by use of waste materials. Through these assemblies also causes a radical rupture within her exhibited work, taking into account views previously watercolors. 


Ultimately, the exhibition demonstrates high creativity of the fine arts degree to work with various media, materials and techniques, setting up an art as copious as heterogeneous.
